Everyone must be taught change making process

He was asked to teach many business classes before whatever  he taught but when he came to HU he decided he will do it different .

Reminded me of what Meg said

( do your thing with one or two people who support you , early adopters , then it will become mainstream then everyone will follow ) .

A lot of people who are able to do it , are creating  parallel worlds , people like this professor and others like small businesses or in India there’s so much innovation happening, by creating more such spaces , the composition of the world is changing  . But it takes time. Mostly , I see that people

1. Find the right places where leadership is conducive to the right way of doing things

2. If they are in places that are not friendly to change , misaligned to values and Purpose,   they don’t waste energy in arguing  or convincing it’s important or trying to create change , get their point across . It’s important to recognize this .

Then they find spaces or build over time such that they are strong themselves and well to do ,   have support or are themself in a place to lead . In short don’t waste energy with ignorant or misaligned people and systems . Even family but build your  own world with the people who align.

Even Therapist said to me in the context of family - don’t try to change the elders and waste time , instead build  your own new world that you believe in . Ignore the naysayers .

More draft ::::

So done with semester. Loved one class by the African- Mexican ginger haired bisexual autistic disabled vet professor ( as he described himself ) . I told him I liked the class as it

1. discussed social problem vs business problems . While all classes talk about market ,  roi , business

2. He focused entire class on learning about marginalized populations and designing for them ( lgbt , elderly , immigrants , neurodivergent / disabled etc ) there is a 80 - 20 rule in product and ux . Design for 80 percent of the market as that’s where profs are. and usually the 20 percent is the marginalized needs that are struggling to fit in to a system not designed for them both social political financial and technical . I his class was all about designing for the 20%

And advocating for their needs

He worked for big companies before and is an entrepreneur too ( sold some small company )

Which was not a new product but addressed gaps in existing products and combined into one ( like the layer Taaatha did with law books )
